Friends of Victoria Hospital Wimborne

We are a registered charity (registration number 299230), founded in 1935.

The purpose of the Friends is to “fundraise and allocate resources to support the delivery of first class services at Wimborne Hospital”

Our vision is to improve healthcare for local people by working in partnership with all health and care providers to achieve the very best care at Wimborne Hospital.

The hospital provides a service of care which is available equally to all members of the local community.   This demonstrates the public benefit of the charity.

Projects

The Friends are currently working closely with Dorset HealthCare (the Trust which manages the hospital) on plans to re-model some aspects of the Outpatients Department. This includes changes to the X-ray Department, moving the Minor Injuries Unit to the front of the building, extensive improvements to the Physiotherapy Department and increased space for staff.
